First Annual Turkey Trot was a Success!

On Saturday, Nov. 21 Olney Texas had its very first Annual Turkey Trot. It was a fun community event which allowed participants to come together and encourage one another as they participated in either a 5k or a 1-mile fun run/walk. This event was organized by both Keep Olney Beautiful and The Refuge, with all the proceeds benefiting Keep Olney Beautiful. This event was meant to encourage one another, promote health and provide a time to come together and reflect on the things that we are most thankful for. Most importantly, remembering and giving thanks that Christ is our Savior and provider, and acknowledging the many blessings in our lives.

We are grateful for the 40 participants who registered to participate in this event, as well as many others who made this event possible.

Keep Olney Beautiful and The Refuge would like to thank the Olney Police Department, and the City Public Works department, for helping block streets and direct runners on the racecourse. We would also like to thank Cub Nutrition & Energy and Dairy Queen for providing coupons and materials for the swag bags. The 1st Annual Turkey Trot of Olney was a great success, and we look forward to many more Turkey Trots to come!
