Faith Unshaken

Faith Unshaken

“Those who trust in the LORD Are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.” Psalm 125:1 NASBS

Beloved in Christ, in every season of our lives, particularly during the most trying moments, let us find reasons to rejoice. It is in these very times of hardship that we must anchor our hearts fully on the profound truth of what Christ achieved for us on the cross.

We should never lose sight of the fact that we were once spiritually dead, ensnared by our transgressions and sins. Yet, through the immeasurable goodness of God and His boundless mercy, His Son, Jesus Christ, came to atone for the punishment due for our iniquities.

A heart that is burdened and downcast is often the target of the adversary, who relentlessly seeks to remind us of our weaknesses and limitations. In moments of despair, we may feel as though we are adrift, struggling to sustain our resolve amidst the storms of life.

However, let us be grateful for the truth that even in our weakness and amidst our wavering determination to persevere in faith, God’s grace remains more than sufficient to sustain us.

We are urged to consistently meditate on the promises of God, regardless of how we might feel at any given moment.

Our emotions can be unpredictable and erratic, much like waves that are tossed about on the sea—deceptive and often misleading. It is essential for our feelings to align with the truths revealed to us by our Creator. Without this divine guidance, we risk losing our foundation, lacking any absolute truth upon which to build our lives.

Apart from the revelation of God found in Scripture, we may become unanchored, devoid of the moral compass necessary to navigate the complexities of life, regardless of our education or personal circumstances.

Let us always remember that Jesus Christ is immutable. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the one who has triumphed over sin and death, and He calls us to walk in faith, liberated from fear and doubt concerning our ability to confront the challenges we face.

Those who succumb to fear often hesitate to engage with the struggles ahead, allowing themselves to be subdued by their power. Yet, dear friends, we are more than conquerors through Him who strengthens us.

In the spirit of David of old, let us boldly charge toward the giants that appear in our lives with our hearts filled with joy and confidence. For the Lord of host is upon our side and we shall not be shaken.

In the midst of this battle we can triumphantly declare with unwavering assurance, “Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.“ By God’s gracious mercy let us humble ourselves with the saints of old and cry aloud, “Let me never be ashamed of the truth of the gospel, that I may bear its reproach, vindicate it, see Jesus as its essence, know in it the power of the Spirit.

Lord, help me, for I am often lukewarm and chill; unbelief mars my confidence, sin makes me forget thee. Let the weeds that grow in my soul be cut at their roots; Grant me to know that I truly live only when I live to thee, that all else is trifling.”
