Halloween Parade Thursday, Oct. 31

Olney Chamber’s Annual Halloween Parade is on Oct. 31. The parade line-up is at 5:15 p.m. at the Old Olney Savings Parking Lot.

The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and will end at the Civic Center.

Trunk or Treat will begin after the parade and anyone can participate in the Trunk or Treat that will take place on South Grand in front of the Olney Civic Center starting at 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. See ad on Page 6.

Dancing Stars of Olney Fundraiser, Nov. 1

The Olney Community Library and Arts Center will host the Dancing Stars of Olney fundraiser Friday, Nov. 1, at HDH Ranch & Rodeo Arena and Pavilion located at 841 Hwy 114 E in Olney, Texas.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. The tickets cost $25 per person available for purchase from Jr. Altruistic and library board members.

Dinner will be catered by The Orchard at Coyote Ranch Resort and includes rosemary pork tenderloin, with loaded baked potato, seasoned green beans, salad and dessert—a gooey butter cake with a surprise topping.

Fall City-wide Garage Sale, Sat., Nov. 2

The City-wide garage sale is on Saturday, Nov. 2. Maps will be handed out at 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. in front of the Chamber office at 108 E. Main St. Deadline to get on the free list is Wed. Oct. 30 by noon.

Young County Republicans Gala, Nov. 4

The Young County Republican Party will be holding its Gala November 4th at 7:00 pm at the Young County Arena. Tickets including dinner are $50.00 each. Guest speaker is Lt Col Allen West Ret. FUMC of Olney Harvest Festival, Nov. 10

The First United Methodist Church of Olney (FUMC) will host its 41st Annual Harvest Festival on Sunday, Nov. 10. The stew & chili lunch will begin at noon at the FUMC Fellowship Hall located at 110 W. Elm in Olney. A variety of crafted items will be on display for the silent auctionFUMC members invite everyone to come eat and participate in the Harvest Festival. Olney Chamber Annual Food Can Drive thru Nov. 15

The Annual Food Can Drive will continue through Nov. 15. Take 3-5 non-perishable food items to one of the drop off locations: Brazos Communications @ 109 N. Ave. D, Olney Chamber of Commerce @ 108 E. Main, Stewarts Food Store @ 1204 W. Main. When you donate, you will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift card donated by Brazos Communication. The drawing will be held Wed. Young Soil & Water Conservation Dist taking orders

TheYoung Soil and Water Conservation District is now taking orders for windbreak seedling purchases. The container species available come in multiples of 25 in plastic containers (10 cubic inch root vol., 6-12 inch top) with several different species to choose from. Bareroot species come in multiples of 25 with several different species to choose from. Orders cannot be mixed or split up.

Anyone interested in ordering the 12-18 inch seedlings should call 549-0422 ext. 3 or come by 1591 Hwy. 380 ByPass in Graham. The district clerk is on hand to take orders for trees from 9:00am to 12 noon weekdays.

The deadline for placing orders is February 10, 2020 with delivery on or around Thursday, February 20, 2020. Please place your order now, as the availability of these seedlings is not guaranteed.
