Cub Nutrition Set to Open and Energize Olney

Cub Nutrition and Energy, Olney’s newest business, is set to open Friday July 3 just in time to help get the community energized with their healthy protein shakes and energy teas for the Fourth of July.

Laura Fortner recently moved to Olney with husband Greg Fortner, Olney ISD’s newest coach for the Olney Cubs. With numerous years of experience, it was a no brainer to offer this service to the community of Olney.

Laura has been spotted all over town recently presenting the different businesses and organizations with free samples of Cub Nutrition and Energy’s delicious energy teas.

Fortner has in the past been a teacher and a coach for six years. After years of paying for child care, Fortner decided to take her then home-based nutrition business to a store front, and over the years has opened four previous nutrition clubs making this club the fifth. After touring the town with her husband, Fortner saw that Olney was a really great community but lacked a nutrition club, like those found in Graham and Jacksboro. Seeing this, Fortner thought Olney would be perfect for a nutrition club. Fortner says that Cub Nutrition is so much more than just healthy teas and shakes. Fortner said, “We have immunity boosters and so many great products to bolster the immune system”. Some of the products that will be sold at Cub Nutrition (which are all plant-based) are: shakes that have all the complete nutrients and vitamins you need for the day, energy teas, fat burning drinks and products you can purchase to take home to use to name a few. Fortner says her family uses these products on a daily basis. Fortner’s children will have them as snacks in the afternoons while Fortner and her husband will have a shake to replace a meal once a day.

For now, Cub Nutrition plans to open for breakfast and lunch. Opening times will be early enough so that club members and customers can pick up a shake on the way to work and close after the lunch slows down around 2 or 3 pm. Fortner says “the shakes are under 300 calories and taste like desert”.

Some other products are a fat burning donut shop, fat burning coffee and a collagen booster. There will also be a club to join which is about 35 dollars which is a one-time fee that gets members 25 percent off up to 40 percent for certain products. Joining the club is optional you can still enjoy all the products with out joining the club. But joining the club and paying the onetime fee comes with a lot of perks like a complete evaluation performed by Cub Nutrition to help club members know what will work best with them.

Fortner wanted to let everyone know that when you join the club you get more than just great products and discounts, you get her checking up on you to see how your goals are going and taking part in your journey. Fortner says the club is more than just selling you shakes and teas, it’s about making sure you get to where you want to be as far as nutrition and health wise.

Club Nutrition plans to have a lounge area for the community to come together and hang out as well as a photo booth area to take selfies or group photos as your journey progresses. There will be plenty of sports memorabilia throughout the club and music videos playing in the lounge area for ambience. In the past, Fortuner’s clubs have been a safe haven for the local youth to hang out in a safe, healthy environment that also serves healthy products.
