B.R.U.I.N.S. hamburger social
August 12, The B.R.U.I.N.S. (Building, Respect, Unity, Integrity, Nobility and Service) kicked off the Olney Varsity Cub’s football season with a hamburger social to help reconnect BRUINS from last year and new BRUINS members with the varsity Cub’s they will be mentoring this year.
BRUINS is an acronym that stands for Building, Respect, Unity, Integrity, Nobility and Service. This is a select group of local men who gather to help mentor the varsity Cub football players through the Cub football season.
The goal is to spend time with these young men to encourage the six values that the BRUINS acronym stands for. This is accomplished by having a breakfast on Fridays before Cub games, writing an encouraging note before each game for each Cub, being at every game to greet and encourage the Cubs as they take the field, give encouragement as the Cubs leave the field, call or text the Cubs throughout the week to talk over issues and mentor these young men spiritually. This is just part of the commitment taken on by a BRUINS.
The B.R.U.I.N.S. are still looking for a few good men--this is a serious commitment. If you believe you have a big enough heart along with a willingness to commit time out of your week to mentor a varsity Cub, please give Pastor Chad Edgington a call at 940-564-5594
