BLESSED AND A BLESSING

Charlie Sanders

“I was homeless, addicted to drugs and living on the streets when I heard about the House of Mercy. My nephew was in the same situation as I was and had come here a few months prior to when I did. After hearing from him and seeing how well he was doing, I wanted the same thing for myself. I really didn’t know what to expect, and honestly I was looking for a place that I could get clean and have a roof over my head. After getting here, I soon realized that this wasn’t a shelter, but a Christian home,” says Charlie.

Charlie is a level three resident at the House of Mercy and his plans after completing the program are to continue to follow Christ setting an example for other’s and to keep his job. Before H.O.M.E. he describes his life as not that good and very unproductive. What he likes most about the House of Mercy is how much he is learning about Christ, that he lives with good people and that it teaches him how to have fellowship with others.
