Bernhardt Family Reunion

Bernhardt Family Reunion

The Bernhardt family recently gathered for their annual reunion and star party over the May 6 weekend, which also included a special lecture by Armin Bernhardt, a cousin known for his expertise in astronomy. The highlight of the event was Mr. Bernhardt’s captivating talk about the upcoming total eclipse set to occur on April 8, 2024. The talk was originally slated to take place at the Furr family ranch but was rescheduled and relocated to the St. Luke Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall due to torrential rains and thunderstorms that drove the party indoors two days earlier.

Mr. Bernhardt, a resident of Fort Worth, has been passionate about astronomy since he received his first telescope as a gift at the age of 10. He shared his journey into stargazing, recounting how he discovered Saturn through his telescope, igniting a lifelong fascination with the wonders of the cosmos.

Mr. Bernhardt revealed that his love for astronomy had been passed down through the generations, with family reunions regularly featuring discussions and activities related to stargazing. He shared how the Bernhardt family had a strong connection to their hometown of Olney, and the reunion provided an opportunity to reconnect and strengthen family bonds.

Following the lecture, Mr. Bernhardt generously offered to advise anyone interested in the best way to experience the eclipse in North Texas.
