Annual Olney Hamilton Hospital Foundation Board Meeting Updates

The Olney Hamilton Hospital board of directors met at the Hamilton Hospital Education building Monday, April 8. The full board was present: Dr. Steve Atchley, Carl Craig, Lewis Farmer, Marilyn Ickert, Trina Johnson, Mark Mc-Clelland, Don Matthews, Kendal Montgomery, Carla Perry and Bill Price. Also, in attendance were Hamilton Hospital CEO Mike Huff, Hamilton Hospital Board President Dale Lovett and Board liaison member Katherine Atchley.

The president of Hamilton Hospital auxiliary, Phyllis Whitsitt, presented her report to the board. She said in 2018, the auxiliary’s volunteer hours totaled 3,984. She mentioned that the Auxiliary continues to donate funds for needed items to the hospital. Judi Winslow, the editor of State Newsletter, followed up with a report about the district and state events.

Dr. Jeremy Johnson, medical director of Grace Care Center in Olney, stated that Grace Care Center has 44 residents, and that Grace Care Center is equal to or better than other similar facilities.

The financial committee presented its report and noted that the hospital improvements and other expenses totaled $46,946.94, and investment funds had an approximate 6 percent return.

Hamilton Hospital CEO Mike Huff reported on improvements, projects and year-end financials. After his report, Steve Lovett made a motion for the Foundation to donate $47,500 toward the needs of the hospital. Mark McClelland seconded and carried the motion.

The final item of business included the election of officers: Lewis Farmer-President, Mark McClelland-vice president and Carla Perry-Secretary/Treasurer.
