Amity Club Christmas Luncheon

Graham Country Club was the setting for the December meeting of the Olney Amity Club; festive decorations created the atmosphere for the group’s annual Christmas luncheon, hosted by Rita Choat. Members enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch prior to a short business meeting conducted by President Phyllis Whitsitt. A memorial in honor of Louise York Estridge will be made to the Olney Library.

“Memories of Christmas Past,” program leader Ann Lundy, began with the reading by Paul Hayward “My Childhood Christmas Memories”. Each member brought a Christmas ornament to exchange. Twelve Days of Christmas was the theme, each member drew a number; as their number was called, gifts were passed around. The activity concluded as members opened their gift. The person who brought the ornament, in turn gave a brief explanation as to why they selected this one to exchange.
