Amity Club

The Amity Club Association held its final meeting of the year Thursday, May 6, at the Olney Heritage Museum. Ronni Walker and Gail Spears hosted the meeting. The members brought various salads and desserts for the luncheon.

President Bobby Wright installed the new officers with the assistance of Phyllis Whitsitt, who presented a flower to each officer. The various flowers were indicative of the role that each officer would be obligated to adhere to during the upcoming year.

The new officers for the 2021-2022 season are as follows:

Gail Spears, president; Ann Lundy, first vice president; Judi Winslow, second vice president; Margie Snyder, recording secretary; Evelyn Altmiller, correspondence secretary; Lucretia Taylor, treasurer; Ronni Walker, reporter.

The newly elected president Gail Spears said, “My first goal as president is to ensure that we continue with the past traditions that were established since the first meeting in 1937. We want to stay close to those values while accomplishing the mission of Amity Club. We also want to incorporate some new things that will become traditions too. I’m looking forward to working with the other officers and members.”

The Amity Club membership is currently at maximum capacity, but there are other ways you may participate. For more information, contact Gail Spears at 940.564.3261.
