Adventures at Olney Community Library

On Tuesday morning, June 11, the Olney Community Library had a presenter come from Prospect Texas with live animals that have been in space!  With this summer’s theme, “A Universe of Stories,” Bobby Curry brought a Leopard Gecko, Lionhead bunny, Ring-tailed Lemur, Pink-toed tarantula, Skinny Pig, toad, African Spurred Tortoise, Whip Scorpion, and a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. Scientist have learned specific information with the aide of these animals in space.

Also in our “universe,”  Bobby brought a Kinkajou (also called a Honey Bear) and a  joey named Jak,  who is a year and a half old. These last two animals were the “stars” of the show! Children and adults enjoyed a chance to touch the Kinkajou and the joey with great enthusiasm! The library enjoys bringing these programs to the community in the month of June.
