OJH Rehearses ‘One Stoplight Town’ for OAP

The Olney Junior High One Act Play is now rehearsing a play called “One Stoplight Town” by Tracy Wells. The play will be performed in November at the district contest “Our rehearsals have been going well so far, and we are excited to see the kids learning new skills and understanding their roles,” Lauren Sullivan, the director, said.

“One Stoplight Town” is about how a stoplight changes the people in a small town over time. The story revolves around a town and its people dealing with change in the community.

“We chose this play because it showed small town life, how our lives are woven together, and how sometimes there are signals in our lives that give us time to either realize that it is time to move to something new or that we should slow down and check our surroundings first,” Sullivan said.

The students in the cast are Leigha Hampton, Ella Richards, Denalee Wales, Trent Berngen, Clara Symank, Miles Branum, Carleigh Symank, Magnolia Caffey, Jessa Branum, Emerald Edgington, Jacob Horner, Palmer Hargis, Samuel Ickert, Chloe McPhie, Keela King, Zeph Tejada. The townspeople are Pace Hargis, Caroline Stewart, and Laney Kimbro, and the crew is Farrah Keeter, Harper Watson, Kate Santibanez, Marcus Arredondo, Caroline Jeske.
