Chad and I have had a pretty amazing run at marriage for the past twenty-two years. But, like all marriages, ours goes through phases. At times we feel closely connected. Other times we feel completely out of tune with each other.
The Amity Club held its monthly meeting Thursday, March 3, at Olney Heritage Museum. President Gail Spears called the meeting to order at 3:15 p.m., and past president Bobby Wright offered the invocation. The members recited the club collect, and Secretary Margie Snyder facilitated roll call. The members present included Evelyn Altmiller, Judy Averett, Rita Choate, Nita Hearne, Ann Lundy, Marilyn Norris, Gail Spears, Jeanie Spivey, Donna Sullivan, Lucretia Taylor, Phyllis Whitsitt, Judi Winslow, Kristi Nantz, JoAn Key and Ronni Walker. Carolyn Penn was absent and excused.
In the race for HD 68, incumbent David Spiller wins more than 80 percent of the votes against Craig Carter (9.17 percent votes), Mark Middleton (4.34 percent votes) and Gary Franklin 3.39 percent votes)
On Feb. 28, Olney High School held an induction ceremony for the students who have been working hard since the 10th grade to maintain the four basic requirements for membership: scholarship, leadership, service and character, along with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average.
