Publisher’s Points to Ponder: Peace within the storm

None of us knows what tomorrow holds, but we know what Jesus said--We should live from day to day as we know who holds tomorrow, who by trust will hold our hand.

In the middle of all the hype associated with the Coronavirus, I began to get caught up in the clenches of fear. With every news report, every sad story, every rumor, every prediction, every new case and every death, I lost my way. I guess I put my faith on hold while I surrendered to fear. At some point, I began to believe that I had some of the symptoms. Of course, this was all in my head because I put my faith on hold.

The Holy Spirit gently reminded me of who I am in the Lord and who’s my protector. He reminded me that I have nothing to fear. It does not matter how deadly the Coronavirus has become or how rapidly it spreads, God is our place of safety. The only thing we need to do is to put our trust in Him and believe His Word. We must believe that God will do what He says He will do.” That said, what are you going to believe going forward?

I am not suggesting that we dismiss the precautionary measures set forth by our government. I am recommending that while you follow the recommended guidelines, you stand firm in your faith and believe that God will see you through this storm.

I hope you will consider reading the entirety of this psalm to find comfort during the wake of the Coronavirus.

Psalm 112: 7 “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings, his heart is fixed in trusting in the Lord.”
