Will B. Going Camping

Pretty stoked to be going camping again after such a long hiatus from something I grew up loving to do. I have recently met a lady who is very special to me and one of her biggest passions is camping and the other is worshipping God; that’s a win-win in my book!

I will be travelling about four hours to a State park, but I don’t mind the long drive to have a weekend with my new friend and her family. The only down side is Oklahoma has some toll roads for yah!! The first time I went up the way it was like one toll road after another, I ended up paying $12 in tolls. The tolls where a little annoying but the frequent stops and the horrible roads where the biggest annoyance--I mean if they are charging people for tolls shouldn’t the roads at least be smooth?

I grew up fishing and camping; it is some of my fondest memories. As a family we traveled down the Brazos more than a few times in canoe, camping along the way. So many memories, so many canoes getting tipped over, HA! The time I went to the Boy Scout Jamboree, I rushed to get my swimming badge, hustled to the river and took off down the river with my Troop, no shoes, no shirt, no supplies at all for an overnight canoe trip. It was not the most Scoutly thing to do I will tell you, but it is to this day one of my fondest memories.

Fishing is one of my oldest memories as well. My brothers and I would take turns each month going on a fishing tournament with our dad. He belonged to a fishing club and they had tournaments all over Texas each year. There was plenty of yelling and freezing mornings on the lake, but that part of the memory fades and is quickly replaced with the fun times on those trips, such as drinking coffee for the first time on a cold morning. Seeing the pride in my dad’s eyes as he watched me drink coffee for the first time and catch my first big fish, will always be great memories. What things are you passionate about and do you still do them? This is Will B saying, pass the marshmallows, lets get to those smores!!!
