OISD hosts Olney invitational

Olney Independent School District hosted its annual cross country meet, the Olney Invitational, at the Olney Country Club on Sept. 28. Teams from all over the district converged on Olney test their mettle against the infamous hill at the Olney Country Club.

The following are the results for the Olney High School [OHS], Olney Junior High [OJH] and Newcastle ISD. OHS Lady Cubs: Morgan Simmons, fourth place, with a time of 15:05; Taylor Lawrence, 13th place, with a time of 16:43; and Mallory Jeske, 15th place, with a time of 17:03.

OHS Cubs: Sawyer Edgington, eighth place, with a time of 23:53; Caden Lane, ninth place, with a time of 23:58; Ariel Ramirez, 11th place, with a time of 24:26; Adrian Gonzales, 12th place, with a time of 24:34; and Bladimir Ramirez, 13th place, with a time of 25:15.

OJH Lady Cubs: Ava Stewart, second place, with a time of 15:03.

OJH Cubs: Jaxxon Laurent, first place, with a time of 14:06 and Colby Johnson, fourth place, with a time of 18:46.

Newcastle ISD: Alli Purvis, Varsity, placed fifth with a time of 15:09. Kenzie King, JH, placed sixth with a time of 16:09. Camren Mallory, JH, placed third with a time of 15:20. Rae’lyn Bennett, JH, placed fourth with a time of 15:50, and Lenaya Gonzalez, Varsity, placed ninth with a time of 15:47.
