OHS Football Camp: OISD coaches host JH football camp

The first day of school is fast approaching for Olney Independent School District and with that comes Cub football. The coaches, with the help of some Varsity Cub football players, hosted a football camp for Olney Junior High.

OISD Athletic Director and Varsity Football Coach Jody Guy said this event was much different then the camp earlier this year for elementary school-age Cubs. The earlier camp was more about teaching the fundamentals of football and demonstrating the fun of being part of a team. The OJH camp was more about practicing plays, conditioning players and getting Cubs ready to begin practices for the upcoming season, Coach Guy said. The Varsity Cubs will play their first inter-squad scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 6 at Cub Stadium. Coach Guy is inviting the community to come out and support and cheer on the Cubs.
