Ladycats prep for big year at skills camp

Newcastle ISD Volleyball Coach Ashley Archer hosted a volleyball camp for varsity and younger players to hone and learn new skills for the upcoming volleyball season.

Coach Archer invited Visiting Coach Cody Propps to bring his expertise in volleyball to the camp to fine tune the Ladycats and to help adjust how they set the team for play among other important skills.

Coach Archer said that no seniors will be on the team this year but she can draw on plenty of experience with at least four juniors this season. Coach Archer said the girls focused on ball control, transitioning, attacking the ball quickly and not waiting for someone else to go to it.

Coach Archer said she is very excited for this season and plans to build this young team up for next season while expecting some successes this season as well.
