Will B. rethinking things

After getting a good talking to the other day from a customer it made me start thinking about if I am where I need to be or if I should be doing what I do. Although I have some control over the area I cover, in the end I do not have control in general. I do the best I can with the knowledge I have and the tools at my disposal.

There was a time in my life when I would have handled a confrontation, even a confrontation with the best intentions, the wrong way. Treating it as a negative thing to be discarded or explained away. I have grown in many ways these past 20 years or so. Thanks in part to things I learned at Home Depot, who taught me a great deal about how to handle situations that seem negative. They are in fact not negative at all. They are learning experiences and opportunities to grow. The second and most important way I grew was spiritually. You could spend a lifetime studying the Bible and still learn some valuable lesson each time you read a verse. One valuable lesson I learned was acceptance of things I have no control over and putting those things in God’s hands.

I know I love my work at the Enterprise, but should I be here? Sometimes I wonder when receiving a bad review now and then. I am not the most educated man. I write what I feel or what I believe. I try to bring focus to areas that need attention if I can. My goal is to spread a little love one day, maybe positivity another, encouragement another or I am just a darn bit cantankerous and want to jump up on my soap box and complain. Some days I wonder, does anyone really read my thoughts? Do they ever help anyone?

But I put these thoughts behind me for the most part. I learned long ago to put my full trust in God’s plan. God may not always bless me with what I want but God always blesses me with the perfect blessing of what I need. Even if I just cannot see it at the time.

If you are ever questioning your situation sometime just remember you are not alone. God is there, all you need to do is give him your problems. God works on a different time then us humans, be patient, just like it is hard to find something in a dark room and you turn on the light and find it right in front of you, so too is a blessing sometimes, you might not see the blessing because you’re in a dark place. This is Will B. saying, you are always in the right place because you are there.
