Will B. a Patriot

As for our politicians who, by the way, should be acting like statesmen and not politicians, are out for their self-interests. A statesman, on the other hand, is an elected official who has his or her constituents’ best interest at heart. When it comes to our political system, many ask, “what is one vote?” One vote put together with many votes lets our voices be heard. Voices heard change laws. If you do not like the representative in office, leftist or liberal trying to get the Bible banned in California, then you must get off your couch and vote against said things or people. Complaining to your neighbor every day or posting your opinions on Facebook does absolutely no good. Your vote is the only thing that a real politician fears or pays attention to.

With 9/11 recently passing it got me thinking about patriotism, those who serve in the military, law enforcement, firemen and women and everyone who are first responders as well as our politicians. These men and women put their lives on the line almost daily, and they deserve to have the full support of the people of the United States of America.

As for our politicians--there are some good, some bad, and some best described with other colorful terms. I am pretty sure you know the ones. One vote put together with many votes lets our voices be heard. Voices heard changes laws. If you want to influence those representing you in office and prevent politicians from attempting to get the Bible banned--like the case in California-- then you must get off your couch and vote against said things or people. Complaining to your neighbor every day or posting your opinions on Facebook does absolutely no good. Your vote is the only thing that a real politician fears or pays attention to.

I have the greatest respect for our military members who have died by the thousands to give us our freedoms and the right to vote. I find it un-patriotic for someone who doesn’t vote in every election.

I know I have waxed poetically on more than a few occasions about this, but it is something I will never understand, and it just gets my socks in a bunch.

As for the topic of terror…terrorist will never truly understand a true red-blooded American. The harder they hit, the tighter we grow together as a nation. The harder they try to strike fear into the people of the United States of America, the more courageous Americans will be. We do not bow to terrorism, nor do we hide in our homes as our neighbors around the world are mercilessly slaughtered for wanting to have the freedoms we take for granted most days. Our men and women take up arms and take the fight to the evil tyrants who choose to oppress their people.

It is a high price the United States of America has paid and will continue to pay as long as evil chooses to show its ugly head. But a price we will pay time and again. There are a great many countries in this world, so if you are not proud to be an American; I am sure there are many people who would gladly buy you a ticket out of the country.

Always be proud to be a citizen of the United States of America and remember we will always be the light on the hill that others call upon to defend the weak and fight for freedom.

This is Will B. saying do your duty and vote in every election no matter how big or small.
