I’ve been busy shooting photography in the community and the countless hours of editing that accompany it and through it all, I have been loving every minute. I sit on my comfy couch with my two pups Daisy May and Burt drinking Monster energy drinks with something or the other droning on in the background on the TV, and I think “Man, this heaven.” The weather’s been beautiful too and it’s been great having all the windows in the house open again.

Before coming to Olney, I dreamt of one day getting involved in a community that I would love. It just never happened and it could have just as easily not happened in Olney. But after praying a lot, God answered that the answer was to get off my butt and start serving the best way I could - by photographing the community. I don’t always catch everything but I do my best to capture what Olney is all about. And what makes Olney such a great community? The people and how greatly everyone is connected to God here in Olney.

I am not trying to toot my own horn here, but you may not find out what you are most passionate about without taking that first step forward and leaping into the unknown. God will show you the way through prayer, but it is still up to each of us to take that first step.

Being a part of a community can take lots of different forms. But if you want to be a part of what shapes the community of Olney, it takes more than just showing up to events. That’s one of the many reasons why I donate all my free time to photographing what goes on in our community. I want everyone to see just how awesome Olney and its people are.
