Texoma Gives has come and gone for another year. This event is a 24-hour online event for non-profits to focus on bringing in donors for their organizations, which also included many physical events to accompany the online portion of the event. I really enjoy this event each year as I go from one non-profit to the next taking photos and talking to those organizers who have poured their soul into their event hoping to attract donors that will help keep the programs, they are passionate about going. To work for a non-profit, you really have to have a passion for it and love to serve others, most employed by non-profits make meager salaries and long hours, but they say if your work is what you love then it doesn’t seem like work at all. There is more to a salary then just a wage earned, other currency received from working for a non-profit are the memories made helping others and the people and friends you make doing what you love, knowing that someone was in need and you stepped in to help, to care enough about others to make sure they were going to make it.

For me life is about serving others, it wasn’t always so but as I grow in my faith in Christ, I become more willing to give more of myself to see other people happy and taken care of. I still have plenty of thing is do for myself but I have learned to carve out time to serve around the community that I have grown to love.

1 Peter 4:10-11”Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.” We all have something to give and one person giving is not better or worse than anyone else’s. God has given each of us gifts to share with other, it could be a monetary donation, donation of your time to clean the church or mow the grass or any number or things, maybe its hosting a bake sale for someone in need, we all have something we are good at and I believe that is a gift given to each of to use to help others in some way, big or small.
