Trusting God

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; [11] So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:10-11 NASBS Dearly Beloved in Christ, Let us take a moment to reflect on the immense love of God, beseeching the Holy Spirit to grant us a deeper insight into the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. For it was God the Father who sent Him to atone for the sins of humanity, offering Himself on Calvary two thousand years ago.

This sacred act of love is not merely a historical event; it is the foundation of our faith and the source of our strength as we are called to spread the good news of the Gospel. In this time of reflection, may our hearts be moved with the emotions that inspire us to reach out to those who have yet to experience His amazing grace.

The word of God teaches us, “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

This is a declaration of confidence to every Christian who trusts in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, called to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the profound truth of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection to the ends of the earth.

In the spirit of unity, we are reminded of the importance of obedience to God’s Word. Without His mercy, we would all be lost; thus, we strive to glorify Him in all we do.

As brothers and sisters who were under His divine grace, let us exalt the name of Jesus and earnestly pray for the salvation of those who are lost and under the wrath of God. Remember, they are dead in their transgressions and sins, alienated from all truth. They are darkened in their understanding and need a miracle performed upon their hearts that only God Himself is capable of doing.

Reflecting on the words of Charles Spurgeon, let us carry a deep urgency in our hearts for the lost: “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay.

If hell must be filled, let it be filled with the teeth of our exertions, and let no one go unwarned and unprayed for.” These words challenge us to be relentless in our pursuit of those who need to know Christ, urging us to pray fervently and act boldly. With every opportunity the Lord presents, may we engage with compassion and conviction, reaching out to those who are in need of hope.

Beloved, never forget that time is fleeting. The Scriptures remind us that no one is guaranteed another day. It is essential that we grasp this reality, particularly in the areas that God, through Divine Providence, has placed us during the season of our lives. Therefore, let us commit ourselves to the work of the Lord, setting our hearts on holy prayer. As ambassadors of truth, let us proclaim the Gospel, calling everyone to repent and believe, pleading with them to look to Jesus who is the author and perfecter of the faith.

Therefore, let us earnestly pray, lifting our hearts to the eternal King, who is able to save them from their sins and deliver them from the everlasting torment of hellfire. Never forget, prayer is our lifeline; it sustains us and empowers our actions.

Prayer goes beyond what any mere mortal man or woman can do, but solely lies in the sovereignty of an eternal God who laid his life down for all who come to Him in faith and repentance.

The scriptures tell us, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.” May the grace of God be with you.
