let your love flow

Center over the past five years. Through your gracious donations, prayers, and volunteers, you have partnered with us, along beside the local churches, to preach the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ to thousands of people. You have allowed us, through your support, to help provide a safe environment for our local children to engage in Christ centered programs that desire to build honor and integrity. As we gather daily to pray for the families, the churches, and businesses in our community, there is one primary thing we ask, “That Christ would redeem those who do not know Him, that He would bring healing to the sick, and that He would continue to provide provisions that are so needed to continue to strengthen our community.” May they Lord bless each and every one of you and all the nonprofits that participate in Texoma Gives this year. Together we pray to build a stronger community for generations to come, honoring the families who went before us,” says Rodney and Kristy Nantz.

In addition to the youth programs provided by The Refuge, OCL provides a learning platform easily accessible to both students and residents. Located at 807 W. Hamilton St., the library offers a vast range of media and books for educational or pleasure purposes.

“Olney Community Library presently serves Olney and Young County citizens and the Olney ISD school students and personnel. We provide books, magazines, audio books, technology and meeting spaces for our patrons. This is our second year with Texoma Gives. We are looking forward to improving the library’s facilities with monies raised through this event. We are almost at our goal, but we lack about $20,000 to be able to complete the restroom project. We are so thankful for the support of the community of Olney and former residents and know with their continued support we will meet our goal and continue to serve the citizens of Olney, its teachers and its students,” says Lori Cox, OCL Administrative Director.

Working with Olney ISD, The Olney Education Foundation provides scholarships to deserving students. Located at 809 W. Hamilton St., their mission is to “encourage OISD students by providing financial support to help achieve educational goals and mentorship for career placement.” They also provide ACT/SAT preparation and testing.

“OEF works independently from our district with the center piece being our scholarship/mentor program for college placement which starts in the selected students’ junior year. In addition, we award grants to elementary, junior high and high school campuses for the advancement of all students. Olney is blessed to have the support that keeps all of our nonprofits moving forward,” says board member Kelly Mahler.

We not only cherish our youth in this town, we cherish our seniors. The Olney Senior Cub Center has been serving and supporting the senior citizens of Olney since 1982. Located at 302 S Avenue B, the Senior Cub Center provides senior citizens with meals, available for pick-up or home-delivery.

“Everyday someone tells us how important contact from one caring individual to another is and how important it is getting a hot meal to someone who lives in a home by themselves. They need the social and nutritional value that we provide. Many of them have friends and siblings that have passed on and they don’t receive the social contact from people like they used to. You’d be surprised how a few kind words and a hot meal can make their day. We don’t just deliver their meals; we visit with them and bring smiles to their faces. We enjoy every minute of what we do here,” says Director Jerry Corbin.
