I hope everyone enjoyed that big ol’ bright moon last week. It is amazing how much light it produces at that phase. Speaking of heavenly sights, a comet is expected to pass by soon so you may want to get out those telescopes to observe it since it isn’t expected to loop back around Earth for 50,000 years! It’s a now-or-never chance to observe this one!

What a great Bingo Bash we had on the 11th. Our caller from Wichita was a load of fun and provided a table full of great prizes for us. That Carlton was the first to shout, “bingo” and head to the chocolate candy for his winning prize. It seems that everyone was extremely fond of those chocolate treats. Celia nabbed at least three chocolate confections for herself! James kept hauling in his own stash of those yummy treats as he lined up those numbers several times himself. Bill also raided the chocolate for his prizes, as did Linda, making all six of us chocoholics. Everyone needed bags to carry their ‘loot’ home that day! If you’d like to come play at 10:30 on Wednesday mornings, head on down and join in on the fun and prizes. There is always a variety of prizes, so you’re bound to select something you like.

Our “Soup-r- Bowl Sunday” will be here soon, come February, so get your $7 saved up and come join us for some tasty soup and cornbread (or crackers), and that scrumptious dessert, all washed down with iced tea. Your taste buds should be tingling at the mere mention of such fare, so satisfy them and come eat with us! It would be a great Valentine’s meal for you and your sweetie to share! And, no clean-up for you!!

Several activities are being planned by our director Angela so stay tuned for updates on those happenings in March and May. One will be a crafting activity, and one will be to honor moms.

Good luck to our city fathers with their efforts to obtain government grants to fortify our infrastructure projects and street repairs. What a blessing those would be!

January has been quite stingy about providing us with rain, so hopefully, February will come through with much-needed moisture. Perhaps Cupid could send a well-aimed arrow through a cumulus cloud to encourage a downpour on our dusty land.

May this new year bring joy, contentment, and prosperity to us all.
