OK, so what does it take to get rid of a pesky mosquito? There is one in my vehicle busily buzzing around and around in my windshield. I can’t believe it survived that cold spell we experienced a week ago, but maybe this next round of freezing rain and snow will do that critter in! My efforts to smash him have not been successful thus far – my arms are too short to get the job done! I’m turning the job over to Old Man Winter!

The Center was buzzing with activity last week as BINGO ruled the day on Wednesday with everyone taking home some really nice gift bags filled with great stuff. A special thank you to the home health people who come to call those numbers and supply us with wonderful prizes. Then there was a big “moving day” initiated by Angela as she moved into a larger office space. New computers and printers should help her with all the work she does. She is quite a pro now with her grant writing, which is a boon for the Center.

Mr. February is stepping in in the middle of next week to bring us some more moisture accompanied by a few ice crystals and snowflakes. Moisture we love! Just be careful if you have to be out when it’s icy; no falls, please.

Less than two weeks away from Soup-r-Bowl Sunday when the Center will treat your taste buds with a great meal, including a delicious (Scrumptious) dessert. Make plans to come during the 11 a.m.-2 p.m. time frame and visit as you eat.

Valentine’s Day is almost here so you guys and gals need to plan something special for your “sweetie!”

Try to steer clear of that coughing/sore throat stuff that’s making the rounds. Coughing all night is NOT a good thing!

Check on your neighbor during dreary weather to make sure they are well and warm. Let your kindness shine!
