Serving Breakfast

Serving Breakfast

I got a call the other day that just filled my heart with joy. What gives me happiness definitely wasn’t the same things that gave me happiness when I was younger. I got a call from a Christian brother letting me know our church, Southside Baptist Church, would begin hosting men’s breakfast for the community again.

I have been torn lately with issues concerning church politics. Quite I few members have left over the issue and those people were the main reason I joined the church. Combined with the church shutting down for COVID and the politics going on with the church, I have not gone to my church on a regular basis in almost a year.

I have been lost lately without my fellowship of fellow church family to rely on. It is just not as easy to find another church when you fall in love with a church and the people who make up the body of the church. We must have tried 10 churches when we moved to Olney and none gave me that feeling like, ‘this is the church for us’ except Southside Baptist Church.

So when I received the call asking if I wanted to help make and serve the men’s breakfast again, I was really happy and accepted immediately. Cowboy church begins directly after men’s breakfast. I am determined to go and just ignore the inner workings and problems of the church and enjoy the fellowship and worship service of my church. I am not sure what the future holds as far as which church we may move to, (if we move to a new church) but I will just enjoy the now and give God my problems of what happens later.
