Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day was a little bit different to say the least. It seems that slowly but surely life is becoming gradually more normal again as we continue to learn how to live in a pandemic. But just when things seemed normal, a massive snowstorm hits Oklahoma and Texas in historic proportions with temperatures in the negatives.

This is Whitnie and I’s 4th Valentine’s Day together but our first one as a married couple. We had plans to go out, and have a date night, but the snowstorm changed our plans. Plans do change sometimes, and so we decided just to stay in and eat Valentines candy and watch TV. But Whitnie ended up surprising me by making me a Reese’s cake! It was just like the one we had for our wedding, except Whitnie made this one for me! She knows how much I love chocolate and it was incredible gesture for such an unprecedented Valentine’s day. She thought the look of the cake wasn’t very good, but I reassured her of how good it looked and tasted! Even though Valentine’s day was different this year, it was still just as special as the years in the past--even more so with this being our first being married! I know she didn’t think it looked as good on the outside(even though it did), but the most important thing to me was that she was thinking of me by making this cake and it shows her love for me. I didn’t ask for the cake, but she made it because she wanted to.

We have been married two months now, and already know how important it is to make your spouse feel special, as well as doing the little things. It goes a long way and it doesn’t go unnoticed! I love you Whitnie.
