My Nickel’s

My Nickel’s Worth

Since I was just six years old, I have always loved playing video games. This is something that many people do not know about me, other than the people that I am the closest to. I remember getting a Playstation 2 for my birthday when I was just six years old, and I have played ever since. The other day, I played a video game that I hadn’t played since 2008 when I was only 11 years old. You know how you can listen to an old song and think of your life back when you first heard that song? That’s how I felt the other day playing this game, the memories flooded back to me!

I grew up playing different sports video games such as NCAA Football, Madden, baseball games, as well as playing Wii sports on the Wii with the family! To this day, my cousin and I will play Wii Resort Golf when we come to my grandparents house, and we still have the best time playing it. This is something we have done now for 12 years and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. I have played video games off and on and really didn’t play too much in college until I started to play video games with my friends. Video games is a fun hobby of mine that I’ve enjoyed just to relieve the stresses from the real world and everyday life. In the last few years, I’ve played video games casually but it has given me an opportunity to share my faith in Jesus with people that I have met through playing video games with, and that is the best part about it. I have always tried to share my faith by finding commonality with people in different ways--whether it be through sports, tv shows, music and now video games.

Video games is a hobby of mine where I can just have fun and stay in touch with friends and share my faith! I encourage every Christian to be able to share their faith with people they know that share the same hobbies, it adds a level of comfort to individuals where they become more willing to listen to what you have to say about any topic. Video games have always been a fun hobby of my mine and have memories playing video games that will last a lifetime!
