Hospital Board Meeting New Member Inducted

The Olney Hamilton Hospital met for their regular monthly board meeting on July 24, 2020.

Board members present were Rita Choat, Bob Craig, Dale Lovett, Ron Rogers, Lonnie Rue and Randy Whitmire. Absent were Anneta Buenger, Dr. Jeremy Johnson and Lyndsey Miller. Others present were, CEO Mike Huff, COO Stasha Siegert, Business Manager Cindy Goldsmith, Administration Assistant Grace Perez and Dr. Christie Caceres.

Highlights of the meeting included the welcome and oath of office for new board member, Randy Whitmire who fills the unexpired term of the late Russell Altmiller. Randy is the pharmacist and owner of Cub Drug Store and Gifts.

Additionally, the board adopted the audit report from the nationally recognized firm of BKD CPAs and Advisors. In recap of the audit, although the district had a net loss of $127,365 for the fiscal year ending February 29, 2020 there was a 12% increase in non-operating revenues over the previous year with a significant gain from the partnership with three nursing homes in the region.

Hospital CEO, Mike Huff reported on the response of the hospital to the COVID-19 impact on the hospital. The audit report reflected the year ending just prior to the pandemic. Hospital operations has been significantly impacted by patients apprehension to attend to important medical care. The hospital has engaged in an aggressive marketing information initiative to educate the public on our safety procedures in an attempt to return patients to the medical care they need.a
