Mother Nature won’t let us get off this roller-coaster ride just yet, and it has been a bumpy ride, indeed! Last Friday morning, my eyes popped wide-open when my weather app said the snow would end about 8:30. SNOW! I leaped out of my chair and dashed to the window to catch a glimpse of the white stuff, but, alas, there was none. We tend to become obsessed with moisture during these dry spells, however minute. Unfortunately, there were no frosty white flakes to thrill the sight—just a slight muscle strain from the dash to the window!

Due to recent surgeries and frigid weather, Bingo didn’t happen last week, but hopefully, we’ll be back on schedule next week.

When you see those youngsters who compete in the stock shows, please give them a pat on the back and compliment them on a well-done job. Caring for and showing animals requires lots of time and dedication. They learn responsibility and respect for others from their participation in any ag program, so praise them at every opportunity. Praise is a motivator; we all need some form of praise to keep us going, so let’s boost each other up with kind thoughts and deeds.

Why did colonists to the New World fight for their independence? Why did the colonists in Texas fight for theirs? Are we protecting our independence? Just some food for thought this week, lest we forget.

As I entered Walmart last week, I met a little lady leaving. I nodded and smiled at her, and she smiled from ear to ear. We talked a bit, and then she asked if I’d give her a hug. So, I leaned down and gave her a big squeeze. We both needed that! So, if you see a short grandmotherly-looking little lady who asks for a hug, give her one. It’ll make your day!

You can be whatever you want to be; choose to BE KIND.
