Young County Commissioner’s Court held their first meeting in a few weeks on Mon, Sept. 14. The meeting opened up by receiving a COVID-19 update, followed by a report of hotel occupancy tax for July for the Wildcatter Ranch and Resort, LP at $8,056.03.

Next up on the announcements was the Texas controlled of public accounts for 2020 Capital Credits of $1,069.90 and ending with the appointment and oath of office for Crystal Clayton, who is the Young County Treasurer Deputy. The court considered the latest on the financial report, as well as updates on securities pledged.

The next item on the agenda was the Auditor’s Budget Amendments and Vouchers Payable. Employee bonds were considered and discussed for Heath Douglas Heanderson, who is the Chief Justice Probation Officer of Young County, Harley Moore, County Attorney Clerk, Sarah Riley, Justice of the Peace Clerk and Secretary, Crystal Clayton, Assistant Treasurer, and Alexis Depalma, County Attorney Clerk. Each employee bond was for $5,000.

The August activity reports for jail and the sheriff ’s office were discussed, followed by consideration of the Tax resale deed from Perdue Bradnon Fielder Collin & Mott,LLP. Extension agent requests for reimbursement were next up on the agenda for Penny Berend and Savanna Williams. The court discussed a service agreement renewal with guardian security solutions about a panic system for $1,187.80.

The next item discussed was the Helen Farabee centers memorandum and the care coordination for substance abuse services with Young County.

Precinct 1 Commissioner, Mike Sipes, discussed the crisis center board representatives’ recent city budget changes that will affect the center before the court moved on to request bids on a 1997 GMC pick-up and a 2002 Ford One-Ton pickup. As the meeting neared its end, the court discussed resolutions supporting the Texas Feeding Texans Program for the Young County Olney Senior Cub Center, Inc. for $350, and the Young County Senior Citizens Association, Inc. for $850.

The last item of the day was considering burn restrictions before adjourning. The next meeting will be held Sept. 28.
