City Council

The Olney City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, April 12 at 6 p.m. The meeting began administering the oath of office for the city secretary, followed by discussing the lease of Brazos Truck and Auto Building on 302 E Elm St, to Air Tractor. This was discussed during the special called meeting on April 6, but no decision was made as Mr. Welch was requested to provide details before moving forward.

Next on the agenda was for the council to consider an application for the Texas Community Development Block Grant before moving on to discuss and consider improvement to the airport terminal and pilot lounge. For the next item on the agenda, payroll and time and attendance was discussed by the council before quickly moving on to the engineering services selection for the 2021-2022 CDBG Grant.

Next was both the interlocal agreement with Young County to approve demolition of properties held in trust, and an interlocal agreement with Olney Hamilton Hospital to also approved demolition of properties held in trust. A public hearing was held to subdivide 507 West Main Street and sell lot 3B. Monthly Departmental reports was the last item discussed before executive session. The next city council meeting will be held April 26.
