THE REFUGE

After four years, the church at Corinth had begun to drift into serious error. Pride had taken root among them, and many had become arrogant—boasting in themselves and elevating human wisdom above the power of God. With their mouths, they honor God, yet their lives lacked the evidence of true spiritual transformation. They spoke much, but possessed little of the power that accompanies genuine faith.

I’m trying to read through the Bible this year. The plan is easy: about 10-15 minutes per day. An Old Testament chapter. A New Testament chapter. A psalm. A proverb. This is the way most people do it, and I’m determined to maintain discipline in this area. But I seem to be failing.

OHS Performs ‘Suite Surrender’ for OAP

Olney High School’s One Act Play Troupe has been busy performing “Suite Surrender” for their chosen play for competition this year. “Suite Surrender,” a play by Michael McKeever, takes place over the course of a day at the Palm Royale Hotel in Palm Beach in May of 1942. The play is about two high society ladies who ares presumed to hate each other and get booked into the same room of the Palm Royale by mistake. The opposing society ladies are Claudia McFadden played by Ava Stewart and Athena Sinclair played by Grace Jeske. The cast of wacky characters attempt to keep both ladies from finding out that each is in opposite rooms of the same suite. In the end it turned out the two society ladies both love being at the center of the drama and have a great laugh when everyone leaves them alone in the suite.
