Will B. Getting Married

Not just yet, but I did recently get engaged. Some may think it’s too soon, having dated my sweetie for only two months. And others of the more romantic nature will accept this without question as a perfect amount of time.

I have always trusted God’s plan for me and strongly believe God puts people in our paths for various reasons. I have also always, without fail, trusted my heart and gut. All three of these aligned when I met my fiancée. It may be a bit cliché but being no spring chicken—as she likes to say—I decided to wait too long before putting myself out there. The cliché part is I joined a site to meet someone; I was determined to find someone who would put God first, as I do. So, I joined Christian Mingle, an online site for meeting other Christians.

I had little luck, though, with most the women I talked to and had the distinct feeling this was just another dating site for them. I was about to give up on the site when I received a smile in my messages out of the blue. After many conversations, I knew we had a great deal in common, including putting God first and wanting to live a Godly life. The rest is history, as they say.

Do you trust God with your most important decisions? What are some things you have trusted your gut and heart with? Many people ignore their gut instincts, which is not always good. The gut instinct used to be what kept us humans alive and kicking back in the early days.

God has blessed me with so much in my life, and now he has blessed me once again and has blessed me in abundance. My fiancée has three children whom I have quickly grown to love and appreciate. As stated before, I found out too late in life that I wanted to be a father. God gives us what we need sometimes and sometimes what we want. In some cases, these two things align, and God blesses us with what we need and want.

This is Will B saying, trust God with what you need and want, then follow your heart.
