Salvation for All

“He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.”

Romans 4:25 NASBS

Without the Lord Jesus Christ and His crucifixion, humanity would be devoid of hope. Every person born of human descent enters this world in sin. The taint of corruption flows through their veins, bringing all under the wrath of God, with no glimmer of hope. It is crucial to understand, the law of God, which is attributed to God’s character, demands perfection because He Himself is perfect. Consequently, all humanity stands under the judicial sentence of God’s righteous judgment leading to condemnation. In the letter to the churches of Asia Minor Paul reflected on his sinful nature before his salvation, stating, “ We all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.”

The reality is, when we examine our own lives we become aware of the unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil that dwell in the depths of our hearts, where our true affections originate. As Paul expressed, “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” I urge you, dear reader, to grasp the fallen state of humanity and the inherent sin that affects us all. It’s important to recognize that sin isn’t merely an act we choose to commit, though that can be true; rather, it is something that is deeply ingrained in human nature. In other words, sin is not just a superficial problem but something that affects the very core of our being.

For this reason Jesus Christ came and fulfilled the righteous demands of the law that condemned us. He laid down His life and was buried, becoming the sacrifice that paid the penalty for the sins of humanity. Then, on the third day, He rose from the dead, breaking the chains of death, appearing to more than five hundred people of His day. As it is written, “He who was delivered over because of our transgressions and was raised because of our justification.” His sacrifice was not for His own sins but for ours—an ultimate act of selflessness. This reveals the depth of God’s love; He willingly took on our sins, bearing the penalty that we justly deserved.

“Oh, may we have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” This means for everyone who comes to Him in faith and repentance, believing Him to be God in the flesh who is the propitiation for sin, is saved. In Christ’s victory over death, we are declared righteous before God. We no longer have to bear the weight of our sins or fear condemnation. Instead, we are invited into a relationship with our Creator, one that is marked by grace, mercy, and hope.

The obedience and death of the Lord Jesus established the foundation and paved the way for this great and sovereign act of grace. The cross of Jesus reveals the most profound expression of God’s hatred for sin while simultaneously showing His remarkable willingness to forgive. Reader, recognize that the pardon of sin is inscribed in every drop of blood that flowed from the wounds of His body, echoed in the groans of His agony, mingled in the tears of His love, and confirmed in His death upon the cross. What more could He have done than this? What stronger proof, what richer gift, and what greater benefit could He have provided as evidence of His love? Today is the day of salvation, look to Jesus and be saved.
