Olney Lion’s Club hosts Hamburger Lunch

The annual Lions Club Homecoming Hamburger Lunch was held on Oct. 5 at the Olney Elementary School Cafeteria.

The hamburger lunch is one of two leading fundraisers that the Lion’s Club hosts annually to raise money for various projects in Olney. The proceeds benefit youth in the community with scholarships, band, athletics, and the Christmas toy drive among other projects.

On a local and an international level, the club’s mission is to empower, serve, meet needs, encourage peace and promote understanding by taking on projects that aid with hunger, disaster relief, health initiatives, and youth engagement worldwide.

Lion’s Club membership had grown exponentially since its establishment more than 100 years ago. The Olney Lions Club is always open to new members.

If interested in assisting with projects that strengthen the community, have lunch with the members to learn more about the club. Meetings are held at Lawana’s Restaurant at 1128 W. Main St. every Tuesday at Noon.
