Meet the Candidate: OISD Trustee Place 2 Ryan Cawthon

It is with great enthusiasm and deep commitment to announce my candidacy for the Trustee 2 position on the Olney School Board. Having been an Olney graduate, my life is ingrained in this community. It is not only my home, but it is where my heart is.

As a proud parent of two wonderful children, I understand the necessity of a strong, committed school board. In order for our youth to flourish and our community to be involved, we need to build a board with integrity, consistency, and discipline.

My wife of ten years, Malia Turner, is also an Olney graduate and lifetime member of the community. We have invested our family in Olney, and have bestowed small town values at the core of our family beliefs.

We are proud to have our children, Rhyder (7) and Raylee (5), enrolled at Olney Elementary. I have been an employee of Air Tractor Inc. in the planning department for six years. My free time involves volunteering for multiple Olney youth sports programs and dedicating the past ten years to the board of the Olney Country Club.

I am committed to fostering open communication, collaboration, and transparency within the school board. Your input and ideas are invaluable to me, and I welcome the opportunity to listen to your concerns and aspirations for our school district.

The community of Olney has a voice, and it should be recognized. I firmly believe that Olney ISD is the best district in our region and that it can continue to grow in all aspects.

I would greatly appreciate your consideration as a candidate for the Olney School Board. I look forward to the opportunity to serve our community and make a positive impact on the education of our children and the values of Olnev ISD.
