March for Jesus 2019

The 21st Annual March for Jesus was held on Oct. 5 with the lineup at 9 a.m., march at 10 a.m. and the program at the Civic Center at 11 a.m.

This event began in 1999 was started by Verma Hobbs, who is a long time member of First Baptist Church in Olney and who has a huge heart for Jesus. The event was a major success with many members of the community coming out to the parade.

This event also had bounce houses, a free BBQ meal, and a bike-give-a-way as well as other prizes for the kids. Most in attendance were wearing the March for Jesus shirts for the 21st annual event, with the words “FAITH GROWS WITH THE HEART-KNOWLEDGE OF GOD’S LOVE,”.

“We want to thank our community and visitors who were able to make it out on Saturday morning to join us in our March for Jesus. The Lord has blessed our community with amazing Christians to call our family. To all who volunteered their time, resources and money, WE THANK YOU! We could not have made this happen without you and the blessings the Lord bestowed upon our March. We look forward to next year’s 22nd Annual March for Jesus,” noted on the March for Jesus Facebook page. The event will surely be back for its 22nd March for Jesus next year in 2020.
