Local Foundation awards grant to Olney Hope for Skatepark

June 21 was national skateboard day, and it was the perfect day to receive a grant that would aid with the construction of a skatepark in Olney.

Perry’s Foundation awarded a grant to Olney Hope Inc. on behalf of the Skatepark Advocacy Group led by Shanda Hope and Chris Garcia. Olney Hope and Perry’s Foundation are local 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations with a common goal to build a stronger community. Representatives from the Skatepark Advocacy Group concur that having a local skatepark is a way to bring children and families together. This effort will also increase tourism from the other surrounding communities.
