La Esmeralda has Successful Opening

Just a few weeks after its May 26 opening, La Esmeralda Mexican Restaurant has enjoyed great success and a few hiccups – if being too popular can be a bad thing.

Felipe Sota, co-owner and operator of La Esmeralda, said the community continues to show consistent enthusiasm for the restaurant to the point that the restaurant sold out of food on several occasions. One customer tipped more than $1,100 on two separate visits– server Natalie Del Villar received a $500 tip from a customer who placed a large order. The customer later returned for a second big order, tipping server Dana Castillo $600.
