The House of Mercy Blessed and a Blessing

The series continues

Tammy Becerra is the second House of Mercy program participant featured in the “House of Mercy Blessed and a Blessing” series. She is the first graduate of the program and one of the first residents who earned certification as a belief therapist. With a sincere dedication to helping others who are part of the program, Becerra has decided to stay close to H.O.M.E. through her roles as a dietary manager and house parent.

Before Becerra discovered the House of Mercy, she said her life was filled with loneliness, anger and despair, and she felt ashamed--In her words, “totally unworthy.” However, she said that her life truly began when she walked through the doors at the House of Mercy on the day after Christmas in 2017.

“I had a new and wonderful life; a life I never thought possible; a life filled with love, kindness and full of the Holy Spirit,” Becerra recalled, stating she—like many others—did not realize how long she had been walking in darkness until she arrived at H.O.M.E. “God immediately started working on me. It wasn’t long after that, I surrendered, and God showed me what my true calling is, which is to show and give love and kindness to all who are just like I was.”

With the help of Preston and Trena Crow, along with everyone at the House of Mercy, Becerra has changed her life. “I was given the tools to live my life the way God intended me to live.”

Becerra has one daughter, Tanya, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren: Brianna (16), Damien (15) and Taylor

(12). She has immersed herself in the Olney Community.

Although she has recenyly moved, she maintains a room at the House of Mercy where she stays three to four nights a week with the determination to help others find their way H.O.M.E.
