Hospice of Wichita Falls welcomes two new members to the board

Hospice of Wichita Falls (HOWF) welcomed two new members to the Board January 29--Carla Perry and Jim Williamson as well as a new chairman of the Board Judy Reid.

James. B. Williamson, known as Jim, is one of two new board members this year. Jim accepted a position on the board because he has always felt that HOWF is a real asset to Wichita Falls and the surrounding counties. Jim is a Wichita Falls lawyer and donates his services to HOWF.

Carla Perry is also new to the board of HOWF. When introduced and asked her reasons for joining the board, she explained that she was honored to be asked. She continued that her sister Doris spent the last weeks of her life there. She died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends Feb. 9, 2008. She said, “Words are inadequate to describe how thankful they all were for the loving care that was extended to Doris and the family from the Hospice of Wichita Falls.”

Hospice of Wichita Falls was first developed as and outgrowth by Elsa Galbraith and Joan Whitlock in 1982 who after caring for dying friends felt that Wichita Falls and the surrounding counties were lacking a professional and caring facility for hospice care.

There will be more information about HOWF in the following weeks. For more information on how you may volunteer or donate funds please visit. howf. org or call 940-691-0982
