Hamilton Hospital Auxilary steps up to help

Earlier this month, the Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary donated a wheelchair-accessible van to Hamilton Hospital. The van will be used to pick up local residents who might need a ride to the clinic or to the hospital to see the doctor. The hospital is also working on a way to pick up residents in Newcastle.

The hospital has a national awardwinning wound care program for patients that is run twice a week. The hospital auxiliary donated funds to expand this program, which allowed the hospital to purchase two additional wound care chairs. These chairs allow patients to be more comfortable during treatment. These additional chairs will also allow doctors and nurses to care for twice as many patients in a timley manner.

“It has been a great benefit for the hospital and the patients,” Hamilton Hospital CEO Mike Huff said.
