“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;” Philippians 3:20 NASBS

Christian, let your heart meditations find peace from the words of Peter as he describes the love of The infinite God Who loves you with an everlasting love, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” For as the scriptures affirm to you, beloved, “Your citizenship is in heaven, from which also you eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform the body of your humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.” It is then, beloved of God, that sin will be vanquished, and all your outward griefs will be gone. The inward voices of weeping over sin shall be no more, for your dwelling will be in a city not made with human hands, where sin will be shut out, and you will never be afflicted by it again. You will drink from the eternal fountain of Christ’s love, which shall never be exhausted; you will sing a new song that will never grow old. Your eyes and ears, heart and hands, judgments, and imaginations, hopes and desires, and all the faculties, will be completely satisfied. It is here and only here that you gaze upon the beauty of Jesus. You will see the scars Who bore your sins and rest for all eternity in the arms of a King Who purchased you with His own blood. So, lift your head, weary soldier, and gird yourselves with holy violence against inward corruption, “For salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore, let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh regarding its lusts.” May God’s grace be with you until we meet in our heavenly dwelling.
