FFA CDE contests

Olney High School FFA attended in several contests in the past two weeks, winning one second place team event.

At Northwest ISD, the Farm and Business management team finished second. Individually, Peyton Valdez was second and Angel Alvarado was third. At Tarleton State, the team placed fourth. Alvarado was ninth and Valdez was 10th. At the Alvarado/Cleburne Invitational, they were the fourth place team. Valdez won ninth and Alvarado was tenth.

In Ag Sales, Ellie Hinson, Aubrey Mahler, Taaron Scrogum, and Richard Walp placed 16th at Tarleton State as a team and Walp placed 11th high individually. In Dairy Cattle, Brodie Hagle, Caden Lane, Brady Lisle, and Brenna Madison resulted in Team 107 at Tarleton State and Team 47 for the A/C Invitational.

Floriculture placed 26th team at Northwest ISD. At Tarleton State they received Team 115 and at the A/C Invitational, they were the18th Team.

FFA will next compete April 12 at Tarleton University in Stephenville, where they will try to qualify for state. If the teams advance to state, there will be two locations for the competition. Farm Business Management, Ag Sales and Floriculture will be at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Dairy Cattle will be at Tarleton State University.
