FBCO hosting “Marriage Matters Now” Conference with Steve & Debbie Wilson
First Baptist Church of Olney is thrilled to bring back national conference speakers Steve and Debbie Wilson to our community. The conference will be held on Sunday, October 3rd from 12:30-5:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Olney Fellowship Hall. The cost is $20 per couple (or individual), but scholarships are available for those who can’t afford the fee.
The conference this year is titled “Communication: The Missing Piece.” Steve and Debbie will use biblical principles to teach couples how to improve their communication skills.
In this fast-paced, often uncertain culture, our marriages are more vulnerable than ever. No matter how long you have been married, attending this conference together will be a blessing to you.
The Wilsons have a desire to help develop stronger, healthier, and more fulfilling marriages that reflect the love of Jesus Christ. They have been married over 40 years and have seen both the ups and downs of marriage. They are excited to minister to couples who crave a better marriage and need some hope.
Lunch will be served at noon following the regular morning worship service, and the conference will begin at 12:30 p.m. Those needing childcare will need to RSVP to the church office at 940-564-5594. Children four and under will be in the nursery. Childcare will be provided for children in grades K-6.
Steve and Debbie Wilson have a heart for building stronger, healthier marriages. In 1990, their marriage fell apart. With God’s intervention and his promise, ”that what He began, he will complete” Phil 1:6, they worked their way back to a stronger marriage. It totally changed their passion and journey. After four years of working towards a great marriage, God impressed them to begin sharing what God had done and how he could help every marriage. They began teaching marriage conferences around the nation. They are sought out speakers and love every opportunity to share with churches of all sizes, ministers and wives, corporations, and any situation which God brings into their path.
Steve has his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. Debbie has her BA in Psychology. They have three grown children, two daughters-in-law and a son-in-law, and six incredible grandchildren. Family is a major priority, and they love sharing their family story.
