Elementary night at The Refuge

The Refuge held an Elementary Evening Saturday, Oct. 5 from 3p.m-7p.m for kindergarten through 5th grade.

The night started off with a gospel presentation by the director, Rodney Nantz, who shared the hope of Jesus Christ. Kristi McQueen and Camrie Baca, past interns of the Refuge and Channing Hopkins, Adelade Edgington and Stormie Perry, some precious youth,  all assisted and played with the kids during the evening. Jill Paschall, from 3 Dots and 1 Dash, divided the kids into two groups and they painted an art canvas.

The kids enjoyed pizza, a bounce house and all the activities of the Refuge. The kids ended the night singing On the “March for Jesus,” “The Ten Commandments,” “Let your Light Shine” and the “Church Clap.”

Why do an elementary evening? The Refuge wanted to do an activity for the younger age groups and give them an opportunity to enjoy time together and enjoy the building God has blessed our community with. A continued thank you is expressed by all the staff and board of the Refuge for the support of the community.
