DEVOTIONAL

“For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord GOD. “Therefore, repent and live.” Ezekiel 18:32 NASBS

Today beloved, I write a small devotion to those who may read, who are lost in their transgressions and have no desire to know The Lord Jesus Christ. May the grace of God give you the strength to examine your own life. May He give you the eyes to look deep into your own heart and see the corruption of sin that is woven deep into the fabric of your soul. For just as a disease enters into your body and is carried along by the bloodstream until the entire body is affected by it, so sin has corrupted your mind and has blinded you to the reality of God’s wrath and justice that is abiding upon you. Sinner, unrepentant soul, I have good news for you, for God has said in His infallible word, “I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord GOD. “Therefore, repent and live.”

Shall you not recognize foolish fellow that God has created you in His own image? In His love for you He has written His laws upon your heart to show you your need for a Savior. For a doctor that will not tell you the disease is not a doctor at all, and the Lord has not left you blind to your lost estate. Isn’t life more than just living and dying? If this is all life is, then let is forsake our conscience and eat, drink, and be merry, lavishing ourselves in the darkest pleasures of our mind. But the truth is, life is more than just eating, drinking, and being merry, and our conscience is a warning mechanism the Lord has given each of us. For you were created intimately into the image of our Creator and you do have purpose in this life. The Bible tells us to be absent from the body is to be present with God. You can’t escape this. You must stand before Him Who gives order to the universe and apart from Jesus you will perish.

I beg you, examine yourself and see the infection of sin that is destroying your life. Sinner do not be ignorant anymore of these facts. The law of God that is pressing against your conscience is pleading with you to turn to Christ and be saved. And all creation is crying out to you, “Look to Christ and be saved!” Stubborn and unrepentant heart, do you think lightly the kindness and patience of God? Do you not know that it is His kindness and patience that hasn’t destroyed you yet? Think about it for a minute. If someone made known to the one you love the intimate details of your thought life, would you not be ashamed? Is this not proof that you need a Savior?

Come now and consider your ways, cry out to the Father to show you His Son hanging on the cross redeeming the world from its sin. It is written, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

Provision has been made, salvation has been bought through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. May God, through the Holy Spirit, give you strength to come to him before the earth closes over you and you are cast into eternal hell. Though God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, His perfect justice will vindicate Him on the day you see Him, life unto life for those who know Him, and eternal punishment for others. Flee to Him today while the breath of life is in you.
