A Day at the Museum: Olney Elementary Student Take-over

Olney Elementary students took over the Olney Heritage Museum Monday and Tuesday, May 13 and 14.

Jan Braddock said the visit to the museum was party of the students’ community study project where students get the opportunity to have a first-hand look at the businesses and governments within the community. Not only did the students visit the museum as part of their community study, they visited the bank, the police department and the fire department.

The visitors on Monday included 36 students and four second-grade teachers: Jan Braddock, Judy Mankins, Rhonda Rodgers and Jennifer Scott who are not pictured as the photographer was not available during their visit. We will capture the memory on their next visit to Olney Heritage Museum.

The Olney Elementary Kindergarten students that are pictured on page 1, visited Olney Heritage Museum Tuesday, May 14. The students explored the educational exhibits throughout the museum. The exhibits shown below are CEMCO’s batch plant model, the water table exhibit provided by Tower Extrusions and the fuselage provided by Air Tractor. Of course no visit to the would be complete without stopping by the farm to milk the cow, Moolatte.

Olney Heritage Museum is open to the public at no charge. The museum hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and by appointment.
